Image compression is one of the (multiple) keys to a quick-loading website. A very kind reader sent me an excellent update below. We love hearing from readers! From Anna G.— I was using the picture compressor tool you mentioned on your page here: spencercreativegroup.com/your-web-sites-load-time-a-need-for-speed/ While optimizilla.com/ does a good job, it only allows you to compress pictures that are up to 20 MB. After some exploring I found this other tool and I wanted to suggest you show it: https://www.websiteplanet.com/webtools/imagecompressor/, This tool allows you to compress pictures that are up to 50 MB in size both in jpeg and in png format! ……………………… This is like a very good tool, allowing you to upload up to 40 images of 50 MB each. The compression tool is part of a larger toolset on Website Planet. I used the Website Planet image compressor to optimize the image for this blog and it reduced the image from 112k to 17k (an 84% savings) in the blink of an eye! So fast I couldn’t even measure it!
